Friends of the Earth is a national environmental organization dedicated to preserving the health and diversity of the planet for future generations. As the largest international environmental network in the world with affiliates in 63 countries, Friends of the Earth empowers citizens to have an influential voice in decisions affecting their environment.

The Rain Forest Action Network is a beautiful site for just looking at pictures BUT its real work is saving the world's rain forests. This site has a children's section. 

There's more to the National Audubon Society than birds, but the bird pictures are a nice bonus from this environmentally oriented group. 
   
 

Learn about the NC General Assembly. Calendars, email addresses, information about bills are available. You may inform the General Assembly of your preference on a current topic using "On-Line Democracy".

You may also learn who your representatives are or the representatives of any county in North Carolina. This information is provided by a Geographical Information System.

Learn about federal legislation on the World Wide Web. You can follow legislation and read the text of bills.
