The League of Women Voters of the Piedmont Triad is pleased to announce  a new series, Civics 101. This series of classes for the general public will highlight the work and responsibilities of various civic boards and commissions. The classes will meet to discuss the different duties and responsibilities for each board. After the discussion participants will visit that board at one of its regular business meetings. The class schedule is as follows:

January 16, Tuesday, 6 p m. - Greensboro City Council, Carolyn Allen, former mayor of Greensboro, special celebrity.

February 6, Tuesday, 6 p.m. - Guilford County Board of Education. Peggy Abernathy, special guest.

March 15, Thursday, 6 p.m. - Guilford County Board of Commissioners

April 24, Tuesday, 6 p.m. - Judiciary, Superior Court, Field trips to a court session will be scheduled on subsequent weekdays.

May, TBA - Meet The Press, Summary and discussion of findings.
