Association
is a 150,000-member organization with more than
1500
branches that lobbies and advocates for education and gender equity. It
works with teachers, administrators, students, and parents to institute
gender-fair education programs in schools, provides leadership training, and
promotes multicultural awareness and action.

AAUW's
Educational Foundation
(EF), established in
1958, is the oldest and one of the largest sources of non-institutional
funding of graduate education for women. The Foundation has helped more than 8,000 women from more than 120 nations to pursue their personal and professional goals through fellowships, grants, and awards. In 2002-03 it will distribute more than $4 million in fellowships, grants, and awards to 300 outstanding women. Legal Advocacy Fund |
AAUW's
Legal Advocacy Fund
(LAF), founded in 1981, provides funds and a support system for women
seeking judicial redress for sex discrimination in higher education. The LAF
has contributed almost $750,000 to 70 women. LAF does not engage in
litigation.

International Federation of University Women |
International Federation of
University Women (IFUW), founded in 1920 and headquartered in Geneva,
Switzerland, is an international non-governmental organization (NGO) that
unites more than 180,000 women university graduates in 72 national
federations and associations throughout the world. Its purpose is to promote
international friendship, cooperation, and peace. AAUW membership includes
